St Andrews Methodist Church, Sheringham
West Runton - features
The beautiful stained glass window was a gift to the Church from Mrs and Miss Bilham in memory of Mrs E.M.A. and Miss H.A. Ellis.
The Communion Table and Chairs, the Plate, the Baptismal Font , the Communion Carpet and Curtain were all donated for the opening.
The oak lecturn was gifted to the church in 1988.
The organ was a gift from a previous organist as it was getting difficult to find an organist when the organist was away. It takes CD’s and once the buttons are pressed it plays itself!
The beautiful kneelers in front of the Communion Rail were all lovingly hand stitched by the Goodman family and given to the church in memory of
Ernest Goodman.
On the wall of the church hangs this banner which was made around the late 1990`s depicting a lighthouse, and symbols of the area and church - cross, star, anchor and a crab - and two of the sayings of Jesus -
"I am the light"
"I am the way"
Our Mission Statement - on a tile in the entrance foyer - is Fred Pratt Green’s words:
We have no mission but to serve
In full obedience to our Lord:
To care for all, without reserve,
And spread his liberating Word.
A toilet for the community is one way we are serving our fellow men (and women)! On our 60th. Anniversary an accessible toilet was opened for the use not only of the worshippers, but it is accessible from the car park so can be used by locals and visitors alike.
