In memory of
.... Connie Robson
Connie was named “Ruth Constance Hearne” but because of the size of the family and a collection of Ruth’s she was known as Connie, and that stayed with her throughout her life.
Connie originated from Leicester. She had worked in different administrative roles and had taken on book keeping work at home as well as working for the East Midlands Electricity Board where she became a Team Leader.
It was with her first husband Bill that the family took many holidays in Sheringham, residing first of all at the Camberley House Hotel. Eventually they purchased a static caravan at the Roman Camp caravan park. It was quite natural then for Connie and Bill to retire to the area.
After Bill’s death, Connie threw herself into activity and increasingly into bowling circles and Church life in St. Andrews. It was during a bowling holiday that she met David and they went on to marry in 1996. They enjoyed 8 years together before David died.
Despite being diagnosed with lymphoma last year Connie fulfilled her desire to live life to the full and we thank God for a lovely, positive and encouraging Christian lady.
Our prayers remain with the family at this time.
..... Vera Buckley
Vera arrived in Sheringham two years ago and was transferred to St Andrews from Bishop Stortford. She died at Kingsgate Nursing Home on the 1st December in her 94th year.
Vera was one of 7 children growing up in Ilford. Leaving school she went on to become a dental nurse.
Vera married Bert at Goodmayes Methodist Church and had 2 children, Margaret and John.
The couple retired to Bishop Stortford where Vera continued to worship at the local Methodist Church.
After Bert died Vera continued to care for herself until just over 2 years ago when she came to Sheringham to be near her daughter. Friends and family paid tribute to a caring lady who made time for others. A family lady with deep Christian conviction.
A memorial service has been held with friends at Bishop Stortford Methodist Church.
Grant us, O God,
Honesty in our thought,
Authenticity in our faith,
Integrity in our dealings.
Warmth in our relationships,
Imagination in our discipleship,
And hope in all things,
Through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
