News from Nepal
Thank you so much for your support and encouragement re our Christian Brothers and Sisters in Nepal. I had another amazing trip there last October, being so blessed meeting Rahul, a 25 year old Buddhist man, who we have been able to show the love of God to, by buying him a much needed new wheelchair and building him a new home. In March I hope to have another Nepalese evening at Elcot to tell the whole, very moving story.
Following a thoughtful request accompanied by a generous donation and gifts for the children I was able to leave them with enough money for Chicken and Dhal-Batt to be served to everyone (about 200) after Christmas day service. Also a large tree with gifts, chocolates etc on for the children and a 2 feet square cake with 'Happy Birthday Jesus' written on it made Christmas 2011 very special indeed.
On a sad note my dear Nepalese Grandma died on the 20th January. Please pray for her son Pastor Norpu and all the family.
Below is an e-mail from Pastor Norpu and the Berea Church finance committee.
Dear Sylvia ,
Jaimasi and Greetings in Jesus .
First of all, we would like to thank our Lord for all his blessings and guidance for our financial committee and its work throughout the year. And we would like to thank you for all your prayers and support throughout the year for Berea Church and family. We have been really blessed by the Lord. Please give our thanks to all the St. Andrews church family and your friends and family those whoever has been praying and supporting us in the Love of Jesus.
We are praying for you and for your family. God bless you and the Lord's protection be with you always. We are sure that the Lord will bless you more in your ministry and fellowship in coming days.
Well,we had a meeting of our financial committee on 13th of January. In the meeting we discussed about our last years work and we thanked the Lord for all his support and for driving us on his will. Currently, we are supporting 23 Gods people through the finance committee. Praise the Lord for this.
And , we pray that we will be able to support more number of people in this year too. We hope that the Lord will bless us more in this year as well.
Lord's Every blessings..... Norpu and Berea Church Financial Committee.
I take this opportunity to Wish you all Every Blessing for 2012, and await (somewhat nervously!) to what is planned for me this year, but whatever it is
'To God Be the Glory'
With gratitude and Christian Love...Sylvia Buttifant
Flower Festival
5th. - 8th. July
Our theme this year is “Reaching Out….”
We are now `reaching out` in need of Volunteers to take on two important tasks of the Festival.
1. A person to organise the Car Park attendants Rota…… please contact either John or to Rosa.
2. A person or couple to prepare and serve light refreshments for the Flower Arrangers on the Set Up day (Wednesday 4th.) Please contact Rosa if you can take this on
Wanted for Flower Festival….
One of our ladies would be grateful to receive any small unwanted containers of basket, glass or ceramic to act as containers for small flower arrangements to be sold on the plant stall. Suggested size between approximately 3 - 6 inches at base. Thank you.
With spring coming, if you are setting seeds/ taking cuttings please could you do some extra as they would be gratefully received for the Plant stall.
We thank a church member for this item…
Count your Blessings
If you woke up this morning in good health……
You are more blessed than the million people who will not survive this week.
If you have never experienced the danger or battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture the pangs of starvation….
You are more blessed than five hundred million people in the world.
If you can attend a church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture or death….
You are more blessed than three billion people in the world.
If you have food in the fridge, clothes on your back, a roof over your head and a place to sleep….
You are richer than 75% of the people in the world.
If you have some money in the bank, or some notes in your wallet, or some spare change in purse…..
You are among the top 8% of the world`s wealthy people.
And if you can read this…..
You are more blessed than over two billion people in the world who cannot read at all!
One of the greatest blessing for Christians is …
they believe in life before and after death.

Opportunity
"Every morning is fresh beginning.
Every day is the world made new.
Today is a new day.
Today is my world made new.
I have lived all my life up to this moment, to come to this day.
This moment - this day - is as good as any moment in all eternity.
I shall make of this day - each moment of this day - a heaven on earth.
This is my day of opportunity.
